Grandfather Don Butler won gold in the over-70s 60-metre sprint and 60-metre hurdles at the UK Masters Outdoor Championships.
‘In the 60-metre sprint, there were national champions in there,’ said the 71-year-old, of Cleadon in Tyneside.
‘One of them had beat me before so it was nice to beat him.’
The medals at the event in Lea Valley, near London, were Mr Butler’s fifth and sixth national golds in the past three years.
